Etosha National Park – Namibia

Etosha is one of Africas biggest Nature reserves. It is located in north – western reches of Namibia. Etosha Park is one of the best places to view almost all of Africa’s wildlife. Hundreds of migratory birds from all over the world are attracted to this vast water wonderland and scores of flamingos arrive to feast on the abundant supply of blue-green algae in the water. Etosha is very tourist friendly. The roads are good, well signposted and accessible by ordinary sedan car. There are accommodation options to choose from – from camping to ultimate luxury. Etosha Park a unique, must-see safari destination and account for its overwhelming popularity amongst local and international visitors alike.

Etshsa is good to visit all year around. In the could and dry season from May to August it is the best time to spot the wildlife at the game reserve. During this time the game species is around the few water wholes, making it easier to pinpoint their location.

The hot and dry season from  August to September the game viewing is very good. But the daytime temperature is high that it exhausting. If you don’t mind very hot weather it is the best time to visit Etosha. In this time you will find less tourists and cheaper accommodation.

The hot and wet season is from September to April.  Thousands upon thousands of birds flock to this watery haven in the summertime, as the pan fills up with water from the rains and becomes a lake attracting the flamingos and other wetland birds. A large number of young animals are born during this time and it is a delight to watch them frolicking alongside their mothers
